Music in Motion

Hosted by Caitlin Sullivan (@cello.sullivan), "Music in Motion" celebrates music inspired by movement — from grooves and dances to a musical interpretation of Sir Isaac Newton’s Law of Motion. I created a motion graphic responding the first movement echoing the Newton’s First Law of Motion. The objects remain at rest or continue moving unless acted upon by an external force. In this piece, instrument sound becomes the force that sets transparent objects in motion as they push against the boundaries of their container. The connecting lines reveal the changing relationships between the objects, creating a playful and ever-changing network. I chose transparent forms and simple line drawings because they reflect my visual style. I also hope the audiences focus more on movement, connection, and the energy created through sound!
